Introduction to Basic Knowledge of AGV Car

一.Basic concept of AGV

AGV is the abbreviation of Automated Guided Vehicle (Automated Guided Vehicle), which refers to the transport vehicle equipped with electromagnetic or optical automatic guidance devices, which can follow the prescribed guidance path form, with safety protection and various load shifting functions. AGV is a special application of wheeled mobile robots. AGV is a battery-powered driverless vehicle equipped with a non-contact guidance device. Its main function is to accurately walk and stop to the designated place according to path planning and operation requirements under computer monitoring, and complete a series of operation functions.

AGV can be widely used in machinery, electronics, chemical industry, metallurgy, post and telecommunications, automobiles, airports, terminals, paper, tobacco, home appliances, medicine, food, commerce, banking, publishing and printing, national defense and other industries. Under the background of Industry 4.0, through the introduction of AGV dynamic logistics system and changing the existing manual handling mode, the logistics automation of the branch center can be effectively realized.

二.Basic structure of AGV

Hardware composition

1. Vehicle controller, navigation module, battery module, obstacle detection module, alarm module, charging module, communication module, driving mechanism.

2. In response to the instructions of the upper computer control system, walk, stop, move and carry shelves or other loads in the working area.

三.Software composition

1. Control system software

2. Control AGV actions through WIF or other transmission paths. The main control functions include: map management, path navigation, path planning, AGV guidance control, funded charging control, traffic management, task allocation, alarm information management, etc.
